Cardonpata forChrist

“Fling wide the gates; open the ancient doors, and the great king will come in. Who is this great king? He is the Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, victorious in battle. Fling wide the gates; open the ancient doors, and the great king will come in.” (Ps. 24:7-9, GNT)

What a tremendous season it is for Home of Refuge International in Peru! Not only was our trip last month successful in every way and full of ministry, it appears that Cardonpata—the community we mentioned in last month’s newsletter as a prospective new area of outreach—is opening wide its heart to us and to the gospel!

IMG_5697 As you read this newsletter, Rosa and I are in Peru bringing the good news of Christ to the people and extending the Kingdom of God. We are taking care of the orphans and the needy, and we are preaching the gospel, all because YOU have given us this amazing reach into that nation by your generous support. Thank you! Thank you because when the children receive their daily hot meals this month, have electricity and utilities, and hear the Word of God, it is your financial backing that made it happen. When people in the Andes Mountains hear the good news of God’s salvation for the first time ever and they swing wide the door of their hearts to let the KING OF GLORY come in, it is because you sowed the money into this ministry to bring that Word of Truth to the village where they live! What you are doing by supporting this ministry is changing whole communities, saving lives, and making an ETERNAL difference! From our hearts, we thank you.

The children in Lima are all doing well, and we are grateful to God that things are running smoothly at the orphanage; the children are prospering.

Since the writing of our last newsletter, the people in the second community we visited last month (Cardonpata) have stated that IMG_5928they want us to build a chapel and an orphanage there. They have verbalized that they are willing to donate a small plot of land to us for that purpose. We ask that you specifically pray for us this month to have wisdom and understanding of what God is opening up before us so that we may correctly execute His will. We hear that there are many needy children in that community, and a chapel would be great to have so that we can teach them the Word of God and disciple them, fulfilling the Great Commission. While we are in Peru

this month we are investigating this matter, and seeking God’s direction. We need YOU, our supporters and friends, to please join us in hearing from God concerning this new ministry. Without your involvement and vision to reach further into the Andes Mountains with the gospel, we will never see come to fruition what we believe God wants to unfold. Will you ask the Father about what He wants to do in that community? Will you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what is in God’s heart and mind for the beautiful people in Cardonpata who have asked if we would come to them with the good news? Rosa and I know that you will. Thank you.

IMG_5964In closing, there is much for which to be grateful during this Thanksgiving season. We are humbled by God’s faithfulness in our lives, by His overwhelming grace that covers us moment-by-moment, and by the truly beautiful people He has granted us to run alongside as we continue in this race of faith. How GOOD GOD IS! How generous in EVERY way. As you gather around your Thanksgiving table this year and remember the many blessings for which you are grateful, know that children in Peru are thanking God for YOU, and so are Rosa and I. You will be in our hearts and minds again this season as we offer our gratitude to God for His goodness.

With all of our love and heart-felt appreciation,
