I, Rosa, have just returned from another 2-week trip ministering in Peru, and Tony continues to remain there in order to finish the construction as soon as possible. The project is progressing smoothly and we are now approximately 3/4ths of the way through the chapel construction, after which time we will begin working on a two-story building to serve both the children and the elderly. The lower level of the new building will function as a feeding center for the elderly, and include a number of rooms to house those who are currently living on the streets, while the upper level will become the orphanage for children in need. We are very eager to see this project become a reality, knowing that when we open its doors, both young and old alike will find in this new building a true “home of refuge”. It will cost money to make it happen; will you join us in this endeavor so that we can “go to the highways and the byways and compel them to come in”? Everywhere that you see the gospel impact a region, one of the beautiful results that God’s Word brings is a restored value to the more vulnerable and delicate people within that society. It is most often the youngest and the oldest among us that are forgotten, neglected, vulnerable, and despised. WE can change that in the mountainous region of Cardompata, Peru and its surrounding area. The gospel of Jesus Christ is moving forward with power in the Andes Mountains, and EVERYONE is benefitting from Christ’s all-inclusive love! Help us expand the kingdom of God to this region and expel the darkness that has oppressed its people for centuries. Give WHATEVER you can to this project, and you will be helping us REACH them for JESUS. We are so very grateful for you.
The church in Cardompata is growing and families are being saved. In one service alone, 6 families received the Lord Jesus. There is a hunger for the Word of God in both Cusco and in Cardompata. Because many are entering the kingdom of God and desiring now to be baptized, we must build a baptismal in the chapel so that we can provide a place where they can “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be baptized.” It is very exciting; your brothers and sisters in Christ are walking in obedience to His Word and being trained as disciples.
We must share how overjoyed Tony was this past week as he witnessed the Lord’s healing power at work through him. On Mother’s Day, he felt compelled to visit an elderly lady in the hospital who was very sick and in need of surgery (she is the mother of Benigno, the man who donated the property on which we are building the chapel). As Tony ministered the Word of God to this woman, she received the Lord and Tony prayed also for her healing. The next day (Monday), doctors did one final test on her before the scheduled surgery and found out that she no longer needed to have surgery at all. The test revealed that there was nothing wrong with her! We serve a good God that cares for us and loves us. He is our healer. If you are in need of a miracle, we pray in Jesus’ name that His anointing will touch you right now. We declare healing over your body, soul, and spirit. Christ already purchased your salvation and your healing over 2,000 years ago when He declared, “It is finished”, and His will is for you to benefit from the stripes that Jesus bore for you. Believe that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead…and that healed this woman from her infirmity…is also healing your body now.
The children in Lima are all well. We continue to support them, and as always, we are deeply thankful to each of you for your help, which makes this all possible to continue.
We love you and give thanks to the Father for you! May His grace overwhelm your soul and strengthen your heart.
In Christ,
Tony and Rosa Rivera
