Powerful Prayer Before the Throne of Grace
God is big…and He is faithful. He has chosen to run His kingdom through prayer, and YOU have a voice before His throne of grace. He instructs you to cast your cares on Him, and to make your requests known to Him (with thanksgiving), and then He listens to you when you pray, and He answers through His power. Is there peace today that you are not walking in, simply because you are allowing a situation to seem bigger in your mind than the size of God? You can trust Him, His plans for you, His ability to do all things, His wisdom to know what is best, and His sincere love for you no matter what challenges you are facing. Believe Him. Free-fall on His sovereignty…and take everything to Him in prayer.
We want to praise God for the way we have witnessed an improvement in Luis’ (director of Santa Maria’s) health since our last newsletter. As we stated last month, we were able during that visit to purchase much-needed supplements for him, and we were also able to pray with him regarding his health. Since then, he has been improving! We are grateful to the Lord and to those of you who have also called out his name before the throne of grace. Luis sent a video to us a couple of weeks ago and in that video he said, “I am a believer in prayer. I was dying and in poor health, and now I am feeling much better.”
Down through the years, we have witnessed God’s power time and time again when we have prayed. It was through prayer that the orphanages in Venezuela and Honduras were built (…and a LOT of hard work!), and through prayer each child was rescued and came to experience the ministering touch of Jesus Christ. Through prayer we have seen people miraculously healed. Through prayer we have watched finances come in at just the right time to meet a pressing need. Through prayer we have obtained the wisdom and direction of God for specific decisions, and through prayer we have felt the comfort of the Holy Spirit in our darkest hours. Why am I telling you this when most of those reading this newsletter are already convinced of the power of (and need for) prayer? I am telling you because you need to be reminded. YOUR prayers matter! Be encouraged today and pray all the more. Believe that your voice is before the throne of grace, and there is help for you there in a time of need.
The children at the orphanage are in school and their winter is soon to come. As the weather gets colder, it is even more important that we supply these children with mattresses and sheets, of which we are still in need. We are praying and asking the Lord to supply for this need on their behalf. Will you join us in praying for this?
