Here we are in February already. Amazing. With 2018 already in the making, we are very excited about this year and what the Lord has in store for us, and for you, and for Peru! I want to give you a few brief updates and then Rosa wants to share with all of you what she is sensing from the Lord during this season.
As you read this letter, Rosa and I are in Peru, in Cardonpata, beginning the church construction. We are also conducting more house-church meetings and the Holy Spirit istouching people’s lives tremendously. We will share more about that in our next newsletter so that you can rejoice with us in the goodness of God. Please do take a moment to pray right now for the Holy Spirit to draw men and women to JESUS CHRIST, that salvation would“spring up from the ground” everywhere we take the gospel. We also ask that you pray specifically for the construction process: we want smooth and steady progress, with no obstacles and no injuries. Thank you! Your prayers are not without effect.
My third and final request for prayer comes from my heart to see those initial two prayer requests fulfilled: we are in need for more funds to continue with the building of the church and orphanage. I ask for you to pray and ask the Lord what you can contribute to this work. With increased funds, we know that the construction can continue and that more salvations are eminent, because constructing in Cardonpata opens up a massive door of ministry to us in that area.
It enables us to truly reach the community, with day-in-and-day-out contact and life- transforming results. It really does matter that you pray for a supply of finances to comein…and that you ask the Lord how He wants to involve you in that process. He is so kind toinvolve us and reward us eternally (and in this life) for that which He could have done apart from us but invites us to be a part of as He supplies needs through us. It is not up to us todo His portion…He is well able to supply the money to you…but it is up to you tobe willing and to say “yes” to the invitation.
(The following words are what Rosa would like to share now as we close out this newsletter.)
“The Lord is telling me to share with the Body of Christ that it is time to wake up from slumber. When the Body of Christ is in a state of slumber, she becomes inactive—disabled—for the kingdom of God. Slumber is caused by the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches. We, as the Body of Christ, need to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL will be added to us.“Awakening”, by definition, means not only the “act of waking from sleep”, but also “a moment of becoming suddenly aware of something”. Do you want this awareness of God’s presence and Hiswork in your life? We can become dull in our spiritual lives, but this is the time to seek God and to ask His Holy Spirit to AWAKEN us to Him and His plans for our lives in this hour.
Romans 13:11 says, ‘And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.’ I Peter 5:8 admonishes us to ‘Be sober, be vigilant;’ (awake!) ‘because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.’ I pray that the Holy Spirit will use this word to exhort you all; may we seek the Lord and His Holy Spirit so that we can live FULLY as God has provided for us to live, in His power and grace.
We love you and, from the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your participation in this incredible journey that God has enabled us to take together reaching people for Christ and loving JESUS to the
ends of the earth.”
Grace and peace,
