About Us

Tony and Rosa Rivera are the founders of Homes of Refuge International.
As parents of seven of their own children and grandparents of 23, they share a strong love for children and have dedicated their lives to rescuing lost, hurting and discarded children, and ministering to the needs of the poor wherever the Lord allows them to travel. Having spent a number of years rescuing children in both Venezuela and Honduras, and raising up orphanages in both countries, today the Rivera’s are
branching into Peru where they are strengthening the hands of those who have orphanages and minister to children in impoverished areas. They share a burning vision in their hearts to impact the world they live in with the transforming love of Jesus Christ and have seen God move powerfully through them to heal and deliver many people.View More: http://genellynne.pass.us/grandparents

Gifted by God with a ministry of intercession, Rosa understands the power of prayer and has traveled within the United States and Venezuela, both as a featured guest speaker and as her husband’s number one intercessor.

Tony, also a requested speaker, shares a message of compassion for the unloved. Hearts are touched as he tells the incredible story of how God moved upon him to give up everything in order to save children from the infested dumps of Maracay and the violence-stricken streets of Venezuela and Honduras, or how today God is still willing to reach into the hearts of poor children across the earth and bring them hope through anyone who is willing to truly care. The work of rescuing children has been no easy task. They have seen years of sacrifice—during many of which it would have been easier to be together within the comforts of their own home in Florida, surrounded by their children and grandchildren. But the love of Christ compels them to continue traveling and doing whatever they can to love and serve the poor, the widow and the orphan.

This love of God has motivated the Rivera’s to continue when it has seemed an impossible task. Sacrificing together since 1994, they continue today to travel to nations like Peru, where they can serve as a provision and an encouragement to others who are working in the same calling. Both Tony and Rosa appreciate the opportunity that the Lord has allowed them to serve in His kingdom and to be counted worthy of carrying His name to the nations.
